A young woman grows up and ages over many decades. By speeding up the action more than 200 million times, we can see the effect of time on her face. Wrinkles gradually appear and then deeply line her face. Her smile, however, seems timeless, lasting through the many phases of her life.

How This Clip Was Made:

This animation was created using a series of eight photographs, that were taken over the span of a woman's lifetime. A set of images, called key frames, was created from these photographs to show how she looked at different times in her life.
